Hot new tracks for March 2020

Top releases from February.

As we approach spring, the music charts come alive as producers and DJs around the world release big hitters once again. These creations are dropped strategically now so they can gain traction towards summer popularity.

Over the coming months, these tracks may ascend to anthemic status and collectively become the soundtrack of summer 2020. Whilst it's hard to know which tracks will grab clubbers attention, some tunes are of a higher calibre above the rest.

The past four weeks have provided a plethora of refreshing remixes and original cuts from a whole bunch of blazing artists. Check out our picks to add some fire to your club playlist.

Alan Fitzpatrick vs. Patrice Rushen | Haven't You Heard (Fully Charged Mix) | FFRR | 2 February

Straight in at the beginning of February, Techno stalwart Alan Fitzpatrick joins the Full Frequency Range Recordings family with a curious versus edit. Taking a step away from his usual dark kick drum style, Fitzpatrick serves up a pumped-up version of the 1979 pop classic by Patrice Rushen. Fusing together partial lo-fi percussion and beautiful r'n'b vocals, the track takes on a techno disco tool aesthetic.

Aside from this respectable remix release, the Southhampton artist's output has been impressive in this month alone. He dropped the devilishly driving Step Away for Rekids 150th release and also an EP of four multi-dimensional techno cuts with Unknown To The Unknown. It seems that Fitzpatrick is an unstoppable force in 2020 and we can't wait to hear more.

Butch | Lale | Innervisions | 07 February

Secret Weapons Part 12 from the Berlin-based Innervisions label is a beautiful listen from beginning to end. The latest edition of the various artist album series curated by bosses Dixon and Âme is a collection of club-approved winners. Track number one, Lale by Butch is a pure deep house mover with a blissful aura.

By pulling together both barely recognisable Baby D samples and euphoric instrumentals, the track will surely make its way into early-morning Ibiza sets this summer. Bryan Kessler, Trikk, Glowal also feature on this incredible compilation. For a lesson in super laid back electronica, be sure to check out Pawn Storm by Musumeci

Ejeca | Ekstac | Skint Records | 21 February

Belfast producer, Ejeca consistently brings fresh and exciting music to the underground table. Whether it's inspired reworks of classics with his alias Trance Wax to warehouse rave aesthetic releases, he is known for his genre-bending style. With this unique vision, he's dropped the Ekstac on Skint Records, which is full of vintage vibes.

Ejeca had this to say about the release “I wanted to make a house/trance crossover track, ‘Trouse' music. It's all based around the big breakdown, vocal and the acid line that comes in. I tried to break a few rules! Nostalgic euphoria from the 90s smiley face era.” We'd certainly like to hear more ‘Trouse' in Ibiza!

Maxinne feat Mizbee | Want You To Know | Toolroom | 21 February

One of house music's brightest rising stars Maxinne returns to her home label of Toolroom with a bouncy number. Teaming up with Geordie songstress Mizbee, the two have created an upbeat tune which serves as a peak-time selection with its big room structure and soaring vocal lyrics.

The swinging instrumentals act as an infectious element which will have any dance floor moving and shaking. Last summer we met up for a Sunday roast with Mark Knight and Maxinne to talk about Toolroom and everything in between at the fabulous Relish restaurant - a meal that was the highlight of the clubbing staff's season.

Disclosure | Ecstasy | Island Records | 28 February

The chart-smashing brother duo of Disclosure return to the airwaves with a brand new EP. It's been two years since we last heard from UK producers when they released the Moonlight EP releasing five songs over a daily basis. Following the same release format, they excited fans first with filter house-inspired Ecstasy.

Whilst listening through, you can hear all the elements that made Disclosure blow up internationally, so it's equally exciting to hear them revisit their pop-house roots. The pioneering pair said back in 2018 that their third album was confirmed for release later on this year also, so this EP drop is enough to keep disclosure fans satisfied - for now.

That's it for now, but we'll be scanning the airwaves to bring you all the best tunes from March for the next article. If you are craving for more music, head on over to our Spotify channel.
