The campaign to 'encourage' the obligatory use of seat belts by drivers and their passengers is underway. On only one day this week the police stopped 69 vehicles and found the astonishing number of 15 drivers and 14 passengers hadn't bothered to employ this important safety measure. As well as dishing out fines of € 90, police gave the offenders a pamphlet explaining the advantages of using a seat belt; for example it could save your life!
