Visitors to Ibiza cannot have failed to notice the gigantic roadside billboards advertising everything from cigarettes to the island's famous discos. They're everywhere, at the airport, by the Hippodrome, in peoples' gardens, on bits of waste ground, and even in the Salinas Natural park - and a lot of them aren't even legal! This week the Island Council roads department has started tearing down the illegal billboards - five have already been removed from the 40 that have been listed - revealing that there is some eminently more beautiful scenery behind!
