A German man who was arrested by the national police for having a cannabis plantation in the San Carlos area of the island has been fined €6000.
Originally charged with possession of 7.5 kilos of the plants, the prosecution had called for a fine of €70, 000 and 4 years in prison for the man.
However the defence argued that of all the crop only 400 grams was 'any use,' and the 'use' of course was for medical experiments into the curative and therapeutic properties of the marijuana, and making a very resistant clothing material!
