Summer's here and after spending the winter in hibernation the celebrities have all come out to play in Ibiza. We've dusted down our Spotlight Celeb-o-Meter which has hit red line 7000 revs per minute with the sudden influx of the super-famous to our tiny island.
Heading (pun intended) the list of footballers lounging on our beaches is Real Madrid's José María Gutiérrez Hernández, or Guti as he is thankfully known, who arrived with his celebrity wife, TV presenter Arantxa de Benito, to celebrate their 5th wedding anniversary here. Guti will probably soon be joined by many of the Spanish national team who are now no longer preoccupied with round ball matters in Portugal!
On the political front, José María Aznar, the ex-President of Spain who also has a lot more free time on his hands since the last election will be spending his summer holidays in a house he has rented in the tranquil north of the island.
But don't just think that it's the talented and intelligent who holiday on our hedonistic island, for the next raft of celebs have proved that neither quality is necessary to become a super model, though Mar Flores, Verónica Blume, Paz Vega and Eugenia Martínez de Irujo all have perfected the art of the theatrical smile.
And standby for the arrival of ûber-babe Claudia Schiffer, who'll be here for the grand opening of a new bathroom shop near the island's famous hiper-centro supermarket. Oohh, the life of the jet-set!
