Back in 2004 and everything they're cracked up to be are the cider-sponsored Sunday Best set. Last Saturday was the initial offering from Rob da Bank's mangled menagerie - Jose Padilla (the Ibiza institution, not the international terrorist), Alfredo Fiorito and the increasingly successful Cuban Brothers, "Miguel" and "Archerio", otherwise known as Scotsmen Mike Keat and Archie.

It's no secret the organisers have been subject to some vindictive spoiling tactics from competing interests, this week's efforts included cars driven dangerously up and down the road to S'Estanyol Beach, whose occupants informed arrivals that the party was in fact cancelled.

False, obviously, but definitely not cricket. Other recreation on offer included Strongbow-quaffing, lounging around in deck chairs and being vox popped by Ibiza-Spotlight reporters.

Johnny

How did you get here?
By car.

Would you take public transport round the island if it was more available?
No not really. With the kids it's a bit hard getting on buses and that.

Who have you come to check out today?
Rob da Bank, I do like his style of music, and the Cuban Brothers which are always right up for a good giggle.

What kind of music do you chill out to?
Sort of like, sort of Balearic dance where you've got live instruments, acoustic instruments blended with electronic.

On a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being totally chilled, 5 being totally rave, what kind of time in Ibiza are you having?
Now with the two children I'd say more on the chilled. So we'll go for a number two.

Tomas Hedberg

On a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being totally chilled, 5 being totally rave, what kind of time are you having here in Ibiza?
It was quite absolutely rave, but lifestyle wise three or two.

A&R: Yeah, definitely.

You as well?
R: Yeah.

A: This sort of stuff.
R: Perhaps Euphoria as well.

On a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being totally chilled, 5 being totally rave, what kind of time are you having?
A: Number one.
R: Same. But back in San An, it's a number five.

Lee Garrick

How did you get here?
I drove, but I made the mistake of parking high on the hill and having to walk down through the sand. But with these parties you have to expect a lot of cars to turn up late and block everybody in and then you're stuck here for an extra two or three hours.

Would you take public transport round the island if it was more available?
Yeah. I'm sure I would.

Who have you come to check out today?
I always like to have a listen to the Cuban Brothers, Alfredo, Rob Bank.

What, if any, kind of music do you chill out to?
I listen to a wide range of music. Anything from the NERD, to Ronnie Jordan or some deep house. It could be anything.

On a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being totally chilled, 5 being totally rave, what kind of time in Ibiza are you having?
At the beginning of the season I had a few heavy hits obviously at the opening of our party Miss Moneypennys and then up till the opening of Manumission I did Dc10 a few times. About a four.

Christy

How did you get here?
I drove.

Would you take public transport round the island if it was more available?
Yes.

Who have you come to check out today?
I've come to work, but I like Rob da Bank and I'd come here just because the vibe's good.

What, if any, kind of music do you chill out to?
I like Masters at Work kind of chilled out funky, Jamiroquai, that kind thing.

On a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being totally chilled, 5 being totally rave, what kind of time in Ibiza are you having?
Three.

As can be seen from the photographic evidence the occasion started out horizontal then went vertical and energetic then, for some participants at least, back to horizontal again.

See y'all next time, and bring your kids. They love it.
