Closing parties preview - What to avoid like bird flu

Incl. photos from Timo Maas’s fiesta última.

Timo Maas’s short but sweet as Dc10 season finished with a bang, a clatter and the thunderous patter of a thousand hand claps. The August 31 gig had all the elements of a truly beautiful send off – just the right amount of people, inventive techno tuneage and lashings of bittersweet euphoria.

The wrnnuhh wrnnuhh of his famous Doom’s Night remix was not required – Timo's got lots of new tricks up the sleeves of his seemingly never-ending supply of trendy t-shirts. From 3am Herr Maas dished out chunk after chunk of metallic funk.

In contrast to the three rings of barely contained exhibitionist chaos that is the Circo Loco on Mondays, this Timo vehicle is a streamlined experience. The room is dark, the speakers are powerful and the typically packed booth is virtually in the dance floor.

We’re read reports of a bonus gig the following Friday (September 16) with rumoured performances from Goldfrapp, Soulwax, Baby shambles and/or the virgin Mary. Only she knows which of them will actually show up or if the whole event will even happen. We'll keep you informed.

Sunday September 11

Azuli @ El Divino

Jo Mills

Stuart Patterson

Terry Farley

Azuli confirmed late this year but have steadily gained momentum as the 2005 season has progressed. Popular with Ibiza Town workers looking for a warm up to an early session at Dc10. Take an air horn.

(If this goes well there may well be a bonus gig on the 18th.)

Tuesday September 20

Carry On @ Space (a.m.)

Get to Space early for a few hours of soul-lifting silliness then go in search of the inevitable Cocoon after party.

Wednesday September 21

One last time the handsome DJ Oliver will fend off the attentions of gangs of ravenous trannies looking to turn him.

Cream closing has an atmosphere like a European cup final, except there are no losers. A bit like a riot, but in a good way.

Saturday September 24

Thursday September 29

Bodyrockers

As a fitting finale to his dj career, Danny “Karma” Rampling will give Eric Prydz a vicious beating for inflicting ‘Call on Me’ onto the world. See it happen.

Gossip hags might also like to quiz a Bodyrocker about rocking Kate Moss’s.
