Ibiza Weather Forecast

If you thought that forecasting the weather on a tiny island like Ibiza

If you thought that forecasting the weather on a tiny island like Ibiza involved popping up to the roof and having a look around with your finger in the air you'd be entirely wrong. A new body to monitor the climatic conditions, IB-Met, has just been set up to give more reliable forecasts using a database of information from 66 weather stations in the Balearics including 8 in Ibiza.

Weathermen from IB-Met reckon they need so many look out points to measure, temperature, wind speed and direction and pressure so that the data can be relied on. It seems astonishing on an island so small – approximately 40km x 20 km – that weather conditions could vary so much to need so many information points.

It's true though, it can be raining in one place and sunny in another at the same time. I popped up to the roof this morning and noticed that it was lovely and sunny in the south whilst the north was experiencing that fine drizzle that soaks you through. These two photos provide irrefutable evidence that this was the case.
