Defected At Booom! Tuesdays

The party moves to Tuesdays with initial lineup details revealed.

Defected In The House has been in the game a long time, but as they reinvented themselves over the course of last year, with new artwork, website and musical direction - all under the excellent stewardship of Simon Dunmore - they have seen something or a resurgence in popularity. They were always cool, but now... possibly the most current and relevant house labels on the scene. This, as we all know, is a difficult thing to keep going for so many years.

Having held the Saturday night residency at Pacha for several years, the club moved to the new Booom! club in 2013, still on the Saturday night. There was no doubting that this was the strongest and most consistent party for the club.

For 2014, however, Defected changes things up and moves to Tuesday nights, going head-to-head with the likes of Carl Cox at Space and Together at Amnesia - all very strong nights for the UK crowd, making this an interesting and ambitious move, one which Simon Dunmore explains below. We're sure though that will their following and their artists all will be well.

The party will open on Tuesday 20th May (their earliest start for a long time and one night ahead of the IMS launch) for 20 nights until the closing on 30th September.

Now, to the details, the lineup. Specific lineups per date are yet to be revealed, but artists so far announced include MK, Kenny Dope, Guti, Noir, Chasing Kurt and Oliver $ each making several appearances over the season, being joined by Defected regulars Sam Divine, Simon Dunmore, Franky Rizardo, Copyright, Sonny Fodera and Flashmob. Further acts will be announced over the coming weeks including some live performances.

"Our 2014 season is our most ambitious to date. A Tuesday night residency is a ballsy move, but one that will allow us to further consolidate our presence on the island whilst building upon our phenomenal first season at Booom! Ibiza."

“Recently, DJs have been prioritising the European festival circuit so moving away from the weekend will give us greater access to a broader talent pool and allow us to evolve our line ups. The current House renaissance, along with the fact we are celebrating our 15th anniversary this spring, makes this summer an exciting proposition." - Simon Dunmore
