Six Senses Ibiza brings ‘authentic experiences’ on a luxury level to Cala Xarraca

The renowned hotel chain is coming to the north of the island in July 2021.

Known for their philosophy of ‘barefoot luxury', the high-end Six Senses hotel group is set to open the doors of a brand new Ibiza outpost this July. Located in the tranquil north of the island, the prestigious Six Senses Ibiza Resort & Spa will be nestled into the striking coastline just outside of Portinatx, overlooking the bay of Xarraca.

Spread across 20-acres of land, the resort will consist of 116 guest accommodations, villas, suites and beachfront caves, with a number of Village Residences featuring intimate terraces, lush gardens and pools available for purchase.

In honour of the Ibicencan architecture, the luxury and family resort has been designed and built using locally sourced materials to create a Finca-style aesthetic with a modern and sophisticated finish. Celebrating the island's tasty natural produce, The Farm at Six Senses Ibiza is a 400-year-old olive press and agricultural estate, and will supply the resort's restaurants, café and bars.

With four organic onsite restaurants, the signature plush Six Senses Spa facilities, and even a recording studio, guests can expect to enjoy all sorts of luxurious creature comforts during their stay. Furthermore, guests and residents will have access to their very own ‘Guest Experience Maker' for completely personalised service.

Sustainability and retaining the authentic spirit of the island are at the heart of the Six Senses Ibiza offering. Celebrating music, art, sustainable fashion, spirituality, wellness, culinary exploration and culture, the experiences and programming on offer reflect all the elements that make the White Isle so special.

From May to October, festive pop-up events and romantic full moon dinners will add atmospheric and unique experiences to the music programming at the Beach Caves shorefront venue, which will host live shows and emerging artist sessions. In the cool season - November to April - the focus shifts to wellness and spiritual experiences, such as yoga, cleanse and fitness retreats.

A key part of the luxury hotel group's offering, the Six Senses Spa houses single and couple's treatment rooms, a steam room, hammam and state-of-the-art fitness area with a café and juice bar. Those who have been indulging in Ibiza's many temptations can rejuvenate at The Rose Bar through a range of healing and preventative longevity programs that combine diagnostics, bio-hacking, nutrition and beauty treatments. Yogis will love the impressive yoga deck on the roof.

With celebrity chef Eyal Shani at the helm, foodies will be spoilt for choice when exploring onsite eateries The Orchard, The Piazza, Farmacy Bar and Live Cave. Enjoy a relaxed meal made from home-grown, seasonal ingredients at the long tables of the Farmer's Market, or take a cookery class yourself at The Farm.

Meanwhile, fashionistas will be tempted by the Agora retail experience, which showcases and champions sustainable fashion designs curated by fashion editors Daniela Agnelli and Tiffanie Darke. Arts and culture are another central part of the Six Senses experience, and the resort's art displays and Magnum gallery have been curated by Elaine Groenestein to reflect Ibiza's core themes.

Furthermore, Six Senses Ibiza will be the Balearic Islands' first BREEAM [Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology] certified resort.

Neil Jacobs, Chief Executive Officer of Six Senses, says, “Sustainability is a huge part of our company ethos. And when you find a magical place such as Cala Xarraca, it's something that you work really hard to both showcase and respect. In the case of Six Senses Ibiza, this is what shines so brightly.”
