Ibiza Airport Records

There aren't many places in the world that are home to only 100,000 people

There aren't many places in the world that are home to only 100,000 people that can boast an airport with as much traffic as Ibiza. Up to the end of October over 4.55 million passengers had passed through its portals.

A sunny day at the airport

This is a already a record annual figure and there are still two months to go until the year end. In summer only the big city airports of Madrid, Barcelona, Palma, Málaga and Alicante are busier than Ibiza which looks set to pass the 5 million passengers a year mark soon.

The airport is also Ibiza's official weather station from where all our statistics are compiled. November is proving to be one of the freakiest weather months on record with prevailing climatic conditions of which Manchester would be proud! Within a 3 day period we had heavy rain, sun, and a variation in minimum temperatures of 15 degrees centigrade.

On Saturday we were scraping ice off our cars as the thermometers dropped to an incredible 2.4 degrees – officially 'parky.' By Tuesday the lowest it got was 16.9 degrees; t-shirt weather again! You never know, we might just get a white Christmas?
