Jazz Ibiza: Pick up the Pieces

This Saturday in Santa Eulalia we have the chance to see live in concert the man who played one of the best known riffs

This Saturday in Santa Eulalia we have the chance to see live in concert the man who played one of the best known riffs in British music history. Molly Duncan (known to his mother as Malcolm) founder member and sax player with The Average White Band takes to the stage at the Santa Eulalia Congress Palace.

It was Duncan who played the famous sax riff on 'Pick up the Pieces,' the band's most successful single, a million seller that reached number 1 in the US charts.

When AWB disbanded after 12 years in 1983 MD went on to play sax with Ray Charles, Marvin Gaye, Chaka Khan, Tom Petty, Eurythmics, Eric Clapton, Chris Rea, Buddy Guy, The RTL Allstars and Incognito amongst others.

These days he's involved with many projects in the Jazz world and in fact is giving master classes to some of Ibiza's Jazz musicians in the Coral Beach Hotel in Es Cana during his stay here.

His concert at the Congress palace starts at 21.00 and tickets are only €15
