9 unmissable superstar DJs

Here are nine of the best DJs you won't want to miss this summer on Ibiza.

With super-clubs come superstar DJs and nowhere has more than Ibiza. Despite the growing glitz of Las Vegas and soaring popularity of Croatia's festivals, this Balearic island is still king of dance music. For DJs to be crowned superstars, they have to make a name for themselves here.

DJs are idolised like the rockstars of yesteryear. People spend hundreds - some thousands - to see their favourite superstar perform at the world's best clubs.

On Ibiza, there's more choice than anyone could ever need. And that's all the more reason for dance music enthusiasts to travel here. It's a clubbing pilgrimage like no other.

To help you make your choice, here are nine (of many many more) superstar DJs in no particular order whom you don't want to miss while on the island.

Eric Prydz

The production master has cemented his Tuesday night Hï Ibiza residency as a must-do for all electronic music fans on the island.

Prydz is packing out the island's newest super-club week-in-week-out. It's a spectacle more than worthy of a mention, and Eric Prydz is more than worthy of his superstar DJ status.

Maceo Plex

Maceo Plex has already graced the decks of three different clubs this season on Ibiza. His curated Pyramid line-ups at Amnesia are proving a big hit - and there's still more to come.

The Conjure Balaeria producer has become synonymous with the island for over a decade now. Here's to the next 10-years and then some.

Solomun

A jewel in Pacha's crown, the undisputed king of Sundays Solomun continues to be at the top of his game. His Solomun +1 residency at Pacha is epochal.

The concept has gained much respect from major figures in the industry and the many who gather there each week. You will immediately understand by being there.

MK

MK has been a figurehead of San Antonio's clubbing scene. With special appearances at Eden with Defected In The House and his own rocking MK Area 10 pool party at Ibiza Rocks Hotel, the American DJ and producer is showing no signs of slowing down.

You can even catch MK at Amnesia with Together and at Hï Ibiza with Cream. He's also back at Pacha for the Tuesdays On Mars closing party.

Carl Cox

No introduction needed - Carl Cox is as an Ibiza and indeed world icon. After an emotional final Space Ibiza closing in 2016, the big man wasn't finished with the island just yet.

This year, Coxy has had three ONE NIGHT STAND events at Amnesia, Pacha and DC10. Not to worry if you missed him. He's set to appear two more times at Privilege with RESISTANCE.

Black Coffee

Black Coffee's stratospheric rise is hard to match. His Saturday residency at Hï Ibiza was the first to be announced by the club last year. Now in its second season, it has clearly established itself as the perfect match for the super-club.

The slick South African selector invites the very best in deep house music to join him and bring their own touch to a soundtrack that is among the freshest on the island.

Luciano

Luciano has been there, done that and is still wearing the t-shirt. An Ibiza legend with previous residencies at the island's biggest clubs, he is still topping the bill at some of Ibiza's best parties.

You can catch the Vagabundos originator at Ushuaïa as resident of the brand new DYSTOPIA party concept on 24 August, 7 September, 14 September and 28 September.

Chase & Status

As champions of drum and bass, Chase & Status have made a huge impact on the island alongside Together at Amnesia.

This heavy-hitting genre continues to grow in popularity so no surprise that Together has made it to an eighth season now at one of the world's best clubs. Chase & Status have more than played their part in its success.

David Guetta

Love him or loathe him, last but by no means least is a true Ibiza superstar: David Guetta.

His undeniable talent on the decks and ability to pack any club on the island puts him up there at the top of superstar DJ status. Whether it's his FMIF night at Pacha or BIG at Ushuaïa, the man knows how to rock a crowd.

And that's only nine. No matter how long you're on Ibiza, you'll be sure to find a superstar performance on any given night. Here's proof: Ibiza Spotlight hit 12 clubs in 12 hours on a typical Tuesday and into the early hours of Wednesday.

Of course, a good night doesn't need a big name to headline it, but these DJs have not made it to the top by pure coincidence.
