Boom Boom lands at Es Paradis

Retro party bringing the stars.

Brand new - but, in a way, kind of old too - for 2019, Boom Boom Live arrives at Es Paradis. Taking over Thursday nights at the San Antonio club, the promoter drops a mixture of familiar names and faces from bygone decades. The '80s, '90s, '00s - it's all on offer.

Even the drinks prices are getting rolled back, with crazy deals behind the bar for early arrivals. The action kicks-off at 21:00 and goes to 04:00, which means you can still get to bed at a reasonable time.

The opening party will see '80s crooner Alexander O'Neal take to stage on 13 June. Best known for his 1987 hit Criticize, American O'Neal will perform from his back catalogue. He's joined by Adamski of Killer-fame, who'll be DJing on the night.

June later sees early noughties sensation Sonique and Everybody Dance Now-producer, Snap! join the bandwagon. UK fans will be buoyed by former Fun House and radio presenter, Pat Sharp.

July is also set to invoke misty-eyed nostalgia, with appearances from Go West and Ratpack. Three more producers of dance floor classic, Robin S, Robert Owens and Baby D also drop by. One-time teenage heartthrobs East 17 reunite on 11 July.

Also of note, 4 and 18 July present more stand-out dates. Hip-hop rules the first, as the Sugarhill Gang and leading members of the Furious 5, including Grandmaster Melle Mel, unite under one roof. The latter features Brit reggae three-piece, Aswad.

August starts with an appearance from Soul II Soul's Jazzie B and ends with a star turn from Spandau Ballet frontman Tony Hadley. In between, you can catch raggamuffin General Levy and a PA from Alison Limerick.

Rounding off the final two shows, 4 September invites Curiosity Killed the Cat and K-Klass. Meanwhile, the closing party on 12 September might be more aligned with the music policy Es Paradis is accustomed too. Legendary Haçienda DJ Graeme Park is the confirmed guest.

Across a 14-week programme, Boom Boom Live brings retro-personalities from the world of pop, dance, jungle and rap all under one roof.

Fancy igniting memories of yesteryear? Then grab those tickets below and get on down for a night of unashamed fun.
