Ibiza - Whither the Weather

Boffins from the Meteorological Department of the University of the Balearic Islands

Boffins from the Meteorological Department of the University of the Balearic Islands have come up with some worrying weather predictions for Ibiza. They have analysed the changing weather patterns of the last 50 years' records taken from 21 weather stations in Ibiza, Formentera, Mallorca and Menorca to extrapolate the future trends.
They predict that in 100 years:
There will be 20% more rainfall
The majority of the rain will descend in violent, heavy storms.
Rainfall in autumn and winter will decrease by 40%
Temperatures will increase by up to 7 degrees centigrade
They also predict that as the sea level has risen by some 20 cm over the last hundred years and as the polar ice-caps continue to melt, that the sea round Ibiza could rise by up to 70 cm more. While this might not seem like a lot when you take into account that every 1 cm the sea rises means 1 metre of beach or land disappears underwater then just think of the consequences should 70 metres of coastal strip go awol.
Surely the lesson here is to take more care of our environment to help stop the process of global warming?
