Art in Colour in Buscastell

The tiny Ibiza hamlet of Buscastell is home to a church, a school, a bar, a supermarket, a vineyard and lacks only a Chinese take-away to be the perfect place to live!

Tucked away in the rolling countryside though it is, the local bar, Can Tixedo not only provides great drinks and tapas, but also doubles as a fairly innovative art gallery, displaying the works of locally based sculptors and painters.

Just started, and running to 14th July, Argentinian artist Gabriel di Yorio has his cheerfully colourful paintings on the walls there. Luckily, he's now based in Formentera, which isn't so far as Buenos Aires to pop home for lunch, from where he produces his vibrant paintings mostly focusing on life and nature in the tropics.

If you need cheering up after a morning with Goya, take a look at di Yorio's acrylics in our photo gallery.
