If you need accomodation, make sure to look at our hotels, villas and apartments pages for great deals before you travel

Pintxo trail

If there is one must-do gastronomic event right now it is the annual San Antonio pintxo trail where you can do a tour of the 46 participating restaurants and bars. All are offering their own individual take on these tasty skewered bites that originally hail from the Basque region in Northern Spain. All pintxos come with a beer or glass of wine for just €2.50. The event, now at its eighth edition runs until 24 March this month; each year more and more people come to do the pintxo run and there's even a free bus to transport you to out of town bars too.

San José Festival

This month sees a month long list of events for the Festival of San José. On Saturday 12 March in the Church Square are the Flower Power events, one in the day for kids and one at night for adults, so get down and do the hippy shake. The main day is 19 March with a entertainment in the street including a live magic show and Michael Jackson tribute act in the evening. Another big highlight will be the 22nd edition of the annual Pepe Rock Festival featuring local band The Frigolos as the opening act. Make sure YOU know the way to San José.

Family garden party

Something for the whole family is this fun-packed day at the Sa Talaia agroturismo near San Antonio on 19 March. The entertainment line-up includes a Kids on Decks DJ Workshop, zumba for children, bouncy castle, mini-disco, face painting and much much more. There are areas for chilling out, sampling some great food and a bar serving up cool cocktails and drinks. There will also be a small market selling hand-crafted and second hand goods. Entrance is €6 adults / €4 for children with a free raffle ticket for each admission getting you the chance to win prizes. All proceeds go to a local cancer charity, so you'll be doing a good deed too

Step into spring at Atzaró

The Atzaró Spring Festival on Sunday 27 March is a definite must do during the month. The festival is completely free to attend and attracts a large number of people from everywhere, both locals and tourists. Expect to see artists, musicians, groups of friends, couples and indeed everyone that wants to wake up the spring, including you! There are more than 15 guest artists offering live performance this year plus all kinds of kids activities, food and holistic workshops, food and drink stalls and DJs. Set amidst stunning countryside in the beautiful Asia-inspired grounds of this famous agroturismo is an event that will truly awaken the senses.

Men and women of the eighties…

…your time has come! On 19 March is a great all-day event for eighties music lovers at the Hard Rock Hotel in Playa d'en Bossa. Children of the 80's is a solid 12-hour midday to midnight music fest with eighties legends like Boney M and Samantha Fox in attendance and there's also music from DJs Petit and Vasquez of La Movida fame. Last year's event - the very first - was a smash hit and this event promises more fabulousness. You can dance, lip-synch or just chill on a Balinese sunbed, stare out to sea and soak up the sounds of this famous decade. Just leave the shoulder pads at home.

So, all you need to do now is pack yourself up and enjoy some of the best of what the island has to offer during March. Have fun!
