San Antonio October Festival 2015

An explosion of music, fun and art

The October Festival comes to Ibiza this weekend starting and Friday 9th October, for four days until the 12th of the month in San Antonio. The idea is to provide all attendees with a sparkling festival featuring the music of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s as well as sea adventures and art. The music side is a tribute to some of the best music decades of the 20th Century. The idea has been to lengthen the end of the season with a fun atmosphere that everyone of all ages will be able to appreciate and enjoy.

There will be five different outdoor stages with a variety of different acts all easily navigable with about a 10-minute maximum walking distance between each stage. The town will be decorated with emblems from each of the musical decades during the whole four days of the event.

Bands include Red Hot Chilli Peppers tribute band Califonication and an homage to Jamiroquai called Cosmic Jam. Cucarachas Enojadas will be performing an appreciation of music from the Tarantino films and other groups include Los Bichos del Espacio and Bluesmafia which will be offering rock & roll music and classes. For fans of show tunes, Glen Marples and Friends will be performing West End Stage classics.

On the Sunday 11 October at 8pm, you can even try singing out a pantheon of rock favourites from all of the musical years being covered in Rockaoke. Tracks like Tina Turner’s Proud Mary to Smells Like Teen Spirit from Nirvana and a whole wide range of tracks will be on hand for everyone to strut their stuff.

Several restaurants will be offering the hungry hordes The Route of Tapas on the first two days of the event, with participating restaurants including Bondi, El Reencuentro, Tijuana, Linares, Can Simon, Hostal Marino and Koppas. For fine dining aficionados, don’t forget that the Restaurat Festival has started and offers three course meals for €15 in a variety of different San Antonio restaurants.

Back again; following the Fiesta del Mar last weekend with lots of great seaborne treats is Estació Nàutica. There’s parasailing, twister jets, stand up paddles, jet-skiing and boat excursions to Es Vedrà and Ses Margalides amongst many of the things on offer. There are a range of packages too, which combine the different activities on offer, with adrenaline, bay experience and sport amongst them. For full package, activity details, pricing and contacts details, click here.

Finally if that wasn’t all dizzying enough, there’s an art exhibition at the Far de Ses Coves Blanques lighthouse using the techniques of the Old Masters to create bold and powerful new works from various artists.

There really is something for everyone at this event, so don’t miss out on the action.
